Did he/she surprise you?

Today my fiance had the most beautiful flower arrangement (red roses and stargazer lillies) delivered to me today at work. No birthday or anniversary; his note said just because he loved me. Made my heart melt.

So please respond with any nice stories about how the one you love did something nice and unexpected for you.
Did he/she surprise you?
Say
FlowersBirthday FlowersSympathy FlowersMy husband has done that for me also. We%26#039;re not big on doing things for each other cuz the date says so. I love it! But he will also do things such as show up with pantyhose cuz he heard me say that I just got a run in my last pair (I have to wear them for work). I went to take a bath once and said %26quot;Damn, I%26#039;m out of bubble bath %26quot; and the next day it was in the bathroom. I was complaining about the boxes for the Christmas ornaments being a mess and he brought home plastic boxes made just for storing them. He does stuff like that all the time. It%26#039;s awesome.
Reply:Me and husband had been married for about a year. We own a horse ranch but I also work for the state roads office. So I got up fed the horses and left for work I got home about 5 cooked dinner (I just had a really long bad day) but I had to go feed the horses. I opened the barn doors and there stood a wonderful Tennessee walker (new horse) with a big green bow around his neck (green is my favorite color) and a tag on it said %26quot;your new love, from your first love. Hon, I love you forever and for always. %26quot; It was a great surprise.
Reply:yea my (then) fiance used to do things like that. It used to get the girls at work jealous. He used to have flowers waiting for me when I got off work, deliveries to work almost EVERY day, dinner cooked, house cleaned and then.... after we got married it stopped

Enjoy it now, it usually stops when the good gets going lol
Reply:I wish! I am a romantic at heart, but my fiance is not the doer in our relationship. I do all I can to get him to do more, but he says he doesn%26#039;t know what to do for me. I told him just to do something and not wait for me to make something happen. You are lucky, I would love to get something %26quot;just because%26quot;. Good luck in the relationship, I hope you get all you want.
Reply:I was dating (and still am) a girl in a different state. We didn%26#039;t get to see each other much. I couldn%26#039;t ask her out because I was shy. So, I asked her co-workers if she was single. They said, %26quot;yes.%26quot; I ended-up sending her a nice flower arrangement with a note that said %26quot;A Dozen Flowers for just one date.%26quot; She never called. But, I saw her 1 month later. We%26#039;ve been dating ever since. Another thing I did was sent her a Tiffany pendant (heart that says %26quot;I Love You%26quot;) spur-of-the-moment.

For someone in the past, it was Valentine%26#039;s Day. I told her to be at my place at a certain time in something dressy. I spent that day cooking her a nice meal; shrimp cocktail, citrus salad, filet, mini cake. I used cookie cutters to make everything in heart-shapes (steak included). Hires a violinist and set-up the table next to the window that overlooked the gulf of mexico. We married, had kids and then she turned into an alcoholic and cheater. Throughout the marriage I%26#039;d buy her tiffany and yurman jewlery on a whim (not to metion other things). She found someone with more money that gives her more gifts. I guess I won%26#039;t spoil anyone anymore.

How do I preserve cut bullrushes?

bullrushes (typha sp.) explode and release their seeds. I want to use these bullrushes in a flower arrangement and need to know how to prevent them from releasing seed.
How do I preserve cut bullrushes?
Say

I am llooking on ebay for a glass centerpiece, but i can't remember what they are called. You see them in many

celebrity weddings. They are really, really tall vases in a v shape and they usually have colored water in them or some type of liquid and a big flower arrangement at the top. I found them along time ago on ebay but can%26#039;t remember now. Could someone please tell me the name of these vases and/or find websites with pictures of them. Thanks

I need wedding reception ideas for a late June wedding (in 2008) with an American color scheme.?

Off-hand I am thinking of table decorations, favor ideas that revolve around sparklers and flower arrangement ideas off the top of my head.. Plus anything and everything else you guys can think of to make my day special, unique and one of a kind!!!!
I need wedding reception ideas for a late June wedding (in 2008) with an American color scheme.?
Say
FlowersBirthday FlowersSympathy Flowersyou could do a centerpieces of clear glass bowles have blue or red stones at the bottom and a white candle (floating). On the tables you could have different color table clothes One red with blue napkins a blue one with red napkinsandthen have the wedding party table white with red and blue napkins. Here are a cople of ideals for favors a candy or candle . Check the links below

Do check out your local craft store thay might be able to come up with more ideals to.

Good luck.
Reply:Red, white and blue
Reply:Be really delicate in how you include red white and blue. It%26#039;s a great combo. Pick one of those colors and make that your MAIN color. For instance:

Red as the main color: bridesmaids in red, red roses/flowers for decorations, primarily red invites, chocolate favors in red boxes with a white ribbon with your name written in blue.

Use blue and white for hints of color. For instance, your invites can have a red front. Go with a postcard style invite. Put your writing in blue on the back. A photo of you in black and white on the front. Carry red and white flowers down the aisle and have your bouquet tied with blue ribbon. Same goes for your bridesmaides.

Surround your table centerpiece with silver gilttery stars.

Use or red white table lines. If you use red table linens, get white chair covers and use a blue bow tie for them!

Maybe have blue candles coming out of your central display (floral or other). Or, if you prefer have your sparklers protruding out of your central display.

If you really like spraklers, it%26#039;d be neat to have the hotel (or wherever your getting married) put off a hold bunch as you and your new husband go through the doors/entrance to your reception.

Just ideas. Hope they help!

Consider doing fireworks. I went to a wedding that featured that and quite cool! Go also to 4th of july wedding on Google even though that is not when your wedding is it still offeres alot of ideas such as above mentioned and floral. Much it fun and different! Best of everything!
Reply:Friends of mine got married 4th of July weekend a few years ago. For the reception they had a B-B-Q theme with checkered table clothes and just simple vases with red, white, and blue carnations with silver spirals. The reception was very tasteful. The wedding itself was very elegent with red white and blue flowers. The brides maids wore red dresses. The ring bearer wore a navy blue tux that had shorts. The flower girls wore blue and white dresses. Instead of baskets they carried metal pails with white and red rose petals.
Reply:It all really depends on your location. (Outdoors? Indoors? A large grassy area or a church reception hall?)

For starters, let%26#039;s start with the basics: a theme. You could do the glitzy end of July 4th, with lots of sparkle and kitsch. That%26#039;s fun... if it%26#039;s not overdone. You have to watch out to walk that line for yourself and your guests.

When you say %26quot;American%26quot; color scheme, the first thing that pops into my head is Americana, like East Coast/Pennsylvania style. Not %26quot;country%26quot; but more shabby chic. For this, you%26#039;ll want to consider a deeper crimson red and a navy blue with antiqued country white for colors. Think simple.

For table decorations, consider putting antiqued white wooden elements together with your greenery. A charming wooden birdhouse can be bought cheap at most arts %26amp; crafts stores (Michael%26#039;s; Hobby Lobby; Garden Ridge... sometimes even Wal-Mart) and spray-painted to look antique. Tie an accent colored cranberry ribbon around it for a simple and cost-effective accessory. Sometimes these stores also have church-shaped cut-outs pre-formed for painting.

Alternatively, heart-shaped wooden cut-outs could be spray-antiqued and laid among greenery (I%26#039;m thinking trails of ivy and other green succulents and simple red roses and/or daisies interwoven) either along serving tables or made into circles for wreaths at tables (assuming you do one of the ever-popular hurricane candle table centerpieces). In lieu of the hurricane, though, you should look around your local craft stores and thrift markets for old (or old-looking!) lanterns. They would lend charm and character to any reception table, plus they add the benefit of securing a candle%26#039;s flame.

For centerpieces at dining tables you don%26#039;t want something too tall, or else your guests can%26#039;t see each other to converse when seated at the table. (the aforementioned lantern idea would be a good height to stay under.) You can have a few tall pieces scattered throughout your event space, though (e.g., on the cake tables and Bride%26#039;s table). For those taller centerpieces, it%26#039;s a lovely idea (and one I used in a similar manner at my own English Garden-themed wedding) to take a tall garden bucket (tall enough to hold long-stemmed roses - about 16 to 20 inches height) and fill it with roses. The bucket can retain its natural metal color or be antiqued. For interest, tie ribbons of two varying colors and widths into bows on the handles and let the ribbon ends trail down about 8 inches down the bucket.

I would suggest finding a few Americana-inspired fabrics that you like and using them to layer over your table linens. Making simple squares of fabric to lay under your centerpiece can add depth and convey a theme very effectively, and they%26#039;re very simple to sew (like sewing a napkin - all you have to do is hem). You can dress the edges up with grosgrain ribbon or beads, and it adds a lot of depth.

Another floral option is to take cranberry, ivory, and navy florals and arrange them in stripes (of varying widths) around a styrofoam ball (12 inches or so in diameter would be most dramatic). Then place the ball on the diagonal in the middle of the table and let coordinating ribbons radiate out from it on the table. You could do multiple sizes and group them on a table for a very chic look.

Finally, you could have your departure through a tunnel of fireworks sparklers.... a friend of mine did that, and it was very elegant and made a wonderful picture. Hand out the sparklers and have everyone do a mock-military sword salute tunnel while holding the sparklers up for you and your husband to run under. Don%26#039;t worry, unless you have LOTS of guests, the sparklers probably won%26#039;t hurt your wedding dress.

Best of luck!
Reply:How about red and white striped tableclothes and some blue, star-shaped glitter strewn around? You could name the tables (if there%26#039;s pre-arranged seating) after national monuments of major historical figures. Serve the sort of food you%26#039;d have at a Fourth of July picnic, like potato salad, and grilled chicken.

Whatever you choose, have fun with your theme, but don%26#039;t go too overboard. A few touches will amuse and delight your guests. A few too many will make them wonder if you%26#039;re really taking things seriously.www.poetry.com

Husbands family upset with me? What should I have done in this situation?

My husbands grandmother died, 2nd death for his family in less than a month, we went to the funeral, and then afterwards spent a couple days with his family, as did 6 of his siblings all in their 40%26#039;s or 50%26#039;s, his mom had about 8-10 people crashing at her place for a week, she gave up her bed(their house is 850 sq ft or so) and everything. We stayed in a hotel with our kids because we did not want to impose. While there I accidently overheard a conversation between his mom and her sister, she said she did not know how she was going to have enough food for the rest of the month until the next pension check and ssi check came(she is too proud to get food stamps or anything) no one had brought anything but pies and sweets and had been eating there for almost a week(about 15-20 people were there every meal) so instead of buying agift and flower arrangement we bought groceries

his mom was a bit flustered but thanked us but later several people bit my head off about it was I wrong?
Husbands family upset with me? What should I have done in this situation?
Say
FlowersBirthday FlowersSympathy FlowersThey bit your head off to take the focus off of their own lack of taking care of something that was needed. Forget it because the people who bit your head off are ignorant self centered people whose opinions mean nothing.
Reply:You did a kind and practical deed. Her other family should take a hint and help out more.
Reply:You did what all of them should have been doing. You did a nice thing, do not let them make you feel bad.
Reply:You did the right thing. If anyone was eating off your mother-in-law, then griping about you providing the food in their mouths, that says more about them than it does about you. It is minimal common courtesy to bring food into a household where you are staying and eating. Everyone at her house should have been doing it. My guess is that they were embarrassed that you showed that you had such superior manners to them.

The gift card idea that people gave above is OK, but then she would have had to make time to go get groceries on her own, at a very difficult time. It would not have been as helpful as what you actually did.
Reply:You certainly did the right thing by providing groceries, even though Mom might have been flustered by the gesture.
Reply:Don%26#039;t feel bad at all, what you guys did was right. What did the rest of the family think that the mother survived on, air and pies? And where did they think the food they ate that week came from, the food fairy?

People like these burn my toast. You did the right thing. No one wants to feel as though they are a charity case, but EVERYONE needs help from time to time. Thank God you were there this time. And I think the mother wanted help, or why else would she have mentioned that she was strapped for cash?
Reply:NOTHING you do will make everyone happy, although I am curious as to how %26#039;everyone%26#039; knew what you did?

Perhaps it was not so much the gift, but the way it was done? Perhaps taking her to the store or getting her a gift card would have been more subtle?
Reply:You did the right thing. Those who complained complained out of jealousy. Your gesture made them realize how low and cheap they were so they got upset.
Reply:I think it was a thoughtful gift. Perhaps a gift card for a store that sells both groceries and other things would have been received better- Like target or walmart. But, at the end of the day you showed more consideration than the rest of the family.
Reply:This is a similar situation to what I have encountered with my in laws. You did absolutely the right thing. The other choice would have been to have a family meeting and collect money from everyone for groceries. Who cares what they think?
Reply:I think you did a kind thing, and I think you managed to do it without it seeming too much like charity. It seems like everyone was rude by not buying food for their mother while they were mooching off of her. I would have done the same thing.
Reply:They are mad because your gesture has now highlighted what an ungrateful and selfish group of people they have become.
Reply:I agree with what someone said: they%26#039;re going through a rough time and maybe that%26#039;s why they%26#039;re taking out their negative emotions on someone -- and since you%26#039;re the %26quot;outsider%26quot; you were the perfect target, also because you did something THEY should have done themselves and that got them exposed. No one likes to be exposed in front of their very own MOTHER..... but that%26#039;s THEIR problem. I also think it was incredibly rude to come to YOU and tell you what they thought - if they were jealous, mad or whatever, they should have kept that to themselves. I usually stand up for myself, so I%26#039;d have probably answered in a sarcastic tone: %26quot;well, I%26#039;m sorry but since I didn%26#039;t see anyone doing it MY HUSBAND AND I felt that it was something that would be helpful for everyone... I didn%26#039;t think it was wrong to offer some support to the entire FAMILY (they were gonna eat out of what you bought too, for sure) in this moment of need%26quot;. If you don%26#039;t want to confront them, then I guess it%26#039;s your husband%26#039;s duty to stand up for you and make them stop their BS. I%26#039;m sure that if you had done nothing to help your M-I-L they would have bit your head off about it as well!!! You can never please everyone..... if you did this out of the heart then just ignore everyone%26#039;s remarks...... they don%26#039;t matter, only what you did and how you feel about it.
Reply:What a gem you are! The ones bitchin%26#039; are the ones who have helped scarf down all mom%26#039;s food! You did something extremely kind and unselfish. You should be proud of yourself. I am and I%26#039;m sure the rest of the answers agree. Kudos to you!!!!!!!
Reply:I think what you did was very considerate.

When my father inlaw passed away I spent the three days I was at my mother in laws buying groceries and cooking. She was not financially strapped by any means, but by having food pre-prepared and frozen and the pantry well stock it eliminated the burden on her. She to this day (5 years later) tells everyone that was the single most helpful thing anyone did for her after his death.

The several people who bit your head off were wrong and should apologize.
Reply:As you know, people are always going to find something to b**** about. You have done nothing wrong in this situation. I wouldnt let it get to you. If ANYONE %26quot;bit your head off%26quot; then they were the one%26#039;s that were out of line. You were being thoughtful and responsible. Please don%26#039;t let this get to you. I would let your mother in law know that you were just trying to help, or let your husband tell her, which, I feel is something that he should do. Since it is easier for him to stand up to his family than you trying to stand up to them. They are going through a hard time and sometimes people can try to single others out, especially if they aren%26#039;t in the family.
Reply:That was *very* thoughtful of you! Best wishes.
Reply:Well you did the right thing. Other people could%26#039;ve volunteered chipping in for the groceries, instead of biting your head off. They are jealous because you bought groceries and they didn%26#039;t. This is what I would have done. If I heard the conversation. I would put my coat on and buy healthy nutritious foods. I%26#039;m always the person who makes the first initiative to make things happen.genealogy mormon

This is how it goes…

I decide to wash the car and start toward the garage when I notice

As I discard the junk mail, I see that the garbage can is full. I lay

the bills down on the desk and pick up the trash can. Then I figure

that since I’ll be going near the mailbox while taking out the

trash, I may as well pay these few bills first.

Now where did I put my checkbook? Ah, here it is! Oops, there’s only

one check left. My extra checks are in the other room.

Oh! There’s the soda I was drinking earlier! Hmmm, I guess I’d better

take it out to the kitchen and discard it.

On the way to the kitchen, my flower arrangement catches my eye and

I realize it needs more water. I pour the soda down the sink.

Questions on Music University.. (Careers in Music)?

Hello! I have a few questions hoping to be answered.

I%26#039;m a 17 year old female residing in Canada, finishing high school through correspondence. I am working a job to save enough money to buy a harpsichord after being in love with the instrument and music for many years now.

Near where I live, about 40 minutes away is a university that has a section specializing in early music, which I was very happy to find out.

Once I graduate, (and get a diploma in flower arrangement) I plan on spending a year or two practicing the instrument, to hone by skills, I%26#039;d then like to attend that university for about 4 years. However I know how difficult it is to get a career in music... but I love music and the instrument so much, and I always would like to learn more.

My question is, is it okay to go to a university if only for pure interest in the subject? If you are not 100% sure that you%26#039;ll get a career in that subject-- to spend 4 years of your life going to a music university?
Questions on Music University.. (Careers in Music)?
Say
FlowersBirthday FlowersSympathy FlowersHi there. Great question, and of course I can%26#039;t answer for you but I can share my opinion and my experiences. To begin, my answer is yes, it is perfectly okay and indeed a great experience to major in something that you truly enjoy. Life is short, and while you are young and have the freedoms that you may not enjoy if you choose to marry or have children later, you can use your talents and let them take you as far as they can.

With that said, you will need to be willing to experience the following things, though they may not always happen:

1. You will need to be able to live very frugally at times. Luckily, I have found that because I am able to play music for a living, I don%26#039;t get the same temporary pleasure from having a new stereo or five new pairs of shoes that others seem to get. Material things just aren%26#039;t important to me, and I like that, because the few people I do know who are focused on buying things tend to be generally unsatisfied with their 9-5 jobs and so they buy things to temporarily make them happy.

If you can%26#039;t deal with a little bit of financial instability, then music may not be the spot for you as a full time career.

2. You will need to have the energy to pursue opportunity. This means traveling to study, looking for new ways to play music for people, and the like. People with 9-5 jobs know where they are going to be going every day, and for many people that is a very good thing, because it takes energy to pursue work. You have to travel to gigs, to rehearsals, sometimes quite far, especially in early music because the jobs are more spread out. In a 9-5, you go to the same place every morning, and can stay all day.

3. You will need to be willing to be in other cities and possibly other countries long term to study. For harpsichord, I would imagine that you would want at least a year or possibly two in Europe or somewhere else that will be far from home. Again, early music is a small world - to be hired when there are a smaller number of jobs you will need to have made quite a name for yourself, and travel looks good.

4. As a harpsichordist, you should be aware that you will probably need to teach as well as perform.

Most important:

All of the above points are for someone who wants to work full time as a musician. In reality, as a harpsichordist, you may never be able to do this, but the adventure of taking a degree in it, of using your skills for something you enjoy, is worth it in my book. Even if part of your work is not related to music, you will still be pursuing what you love and have that knowledge and expertise, and be much richer for it than if you had never learned it at all. You can lose a job any day that you have one (even a CEO can), but no man or woman can take away your expertise in a field you love once you have gained it.

To sum up, my way of looking at it is that the most fulfilled humans have always simply found something that they enjoy and that they do well (both are important) and then committed themselves to it. Blacksmithing, soldiering, making music, teaching, one should always choose if one can. If your choice is real estate, or banking, or business, then so be it, but if you only choose those to make money, then I believe that you are living like the people that get pleasure from buying a new stereo or new shoes, seeking a surface happiness.

With only one life for each of us, why should we not get the most out of it if we can? If I had been hit by a bus today, I would be grateful that I pursued early music while I could, even if I didn%26#039;t die the richest person in the world. And, when Iook back from my death bed (many, many years from now, fate willing), I know I would regret it if I had not pursued what I loved.

Good luck!
Reply:I think it is. People spend too much time focusing on the %26quot;getting a good job after graduation%26quot; aspect of university and not nearly enough on actually learning about something they love. If after a few years of serious practice you are still passionate about it then you should go for it.

One practical thing to consider though is this- you will need to have some sort of skills for a decent job after graduation, either in music or another field. You do not want to finish university and find yourself stuck in a job/life that doesn%26#039;t allow you time or money to follow your passion at the very least in your spare time.genealogy mormon

Reply:if ya dont know if he%26#039;s into wood work then you should find out before getting/giving him that

get him a superchip for his truck if he is a real man, but if that were the case then hed already have one , and intake and an exhaust along with some sort of lift kit and big ol tires. so get him something neat for his truck. we men as a gender are a very intrigued by simple things and also by very complex things

so some good food would work, but if he diesnt like food then cant really call himself a man and needs to openly admit his sexuality and get the hell out of man city and onto rainbow island.

seriously though dont get him those knife doohickeys theyre a waste of your hard earned money.acting resources

Do most relatives fight all the time over funeral arrangements and splitting of their parent's assets.?

How can we minimize hate, bitterness, hurt feelings, and anger this weekend when we meet to split up some of the stuff. It is only a month since mom died and I cannot understand the big rush to do it all now and in one day..they are all stressing me out. Is this normal..the family is real dysfunctional and my brother nearly attacked me twice..once from stress of the day and saying the flower spray was too much (at the most $50 over the cheapest one)..he screamed, said I weas lying to hiom and truying to chat him, vowed revenge and broke glass in the house and overturned books...another time went craxy because I wanted to ask the lawyer what a legal paper was before signing it..he screamed, im,plied he would cheat my on the will which he can do as to how it was written and demanded my mom%26#039;s house key back..we did make up but this is crazy..I am dreading Sunday and feel I will get cheated, hurt feelings, and not the things I would like...I feel like not gouing but he said I need to go

FlowersBirthday FlowersSympathy FlowersI don%26#039;t know why but it seems like that%26#039;s the way MANY families get when one passes away. From what I have seen in my own family and in families of others close to me it seems like you are definitely NOT alone. I don%26#039;t know why it gets so ugly with everyone arguing over who gets what, who deserves what and so on. It all seems so petty and it brings out the ugliness you never knew existed in people. Maybe it%26#039;s because of the hurt losing someone close brings and that many just don%26#039;t know how to deal with it any other way. Maybe it%26#039;s because everyone starts to scramble for material things that will remind them of that person, somehow feeling like you have something to remember them by. Or, maybe it%26#039;s just greed...claiming what they feel they%26#039;ve earned.

Regardless of why, you aren%26#039;t alone. You should go. It may be that the other members just want to get that settled so you can all start to move on. Try to stay above the pettiness. Don%26#039;t let the others drag you into that. It sounds like your brother is not taking this well and he%26#039;ll have to get past it on his own. You obviously are very different and that%26#039;s probably why his behavior is so surprising to you. Go and meet with them and if things get out of hand, make sure your voice is heard. If you can, let them know how you feel and how much it hurts you to see everyone fighting. If that%26#039;s out of the question, I would walk away. You don%26#039;t need material things to remember her by and nothing material is worth getting vicious with family, no matter how dysfunctional they may be. If there are things you want, let them know right away and leave them to fight eachother for the rest. The last thing you need is this negativity when you are grieving from the loss of your mother. It will only bring more pain. Continue to be strong and protect yourself from any more. I hope it all works out. My condolences.

Reply:Unfortunately, alot of families fight over meaningless material possessions. Whenever something like this occurs in my family, I volunteer that they can have anything they want except one thing and they can%26#039;t have that. That is the quality of time I spent with my loved one before they passed. That is something nobody can take from me. And that is more precious than anything on earth.

Reply:I%26#039;m sorry for your loss. Yes it is normal for conflict and confusion. It sounds like your brother isn%26#039;t coping too well. From my personal experience thereis usually at least one family member who for whatever reason and that is individual as we are. They can feel like they had a closer relationship with the person who%26#039;s passed on and deserve more posessions than the others. A time that is hard for all made harder by unrealistic expectations. If he is the only male he may feel it is all his task. It wont make sense from others perspective. For whatever reson it is happening. You have as much right as any in the family and will be angry at yourself if you dont get that which is most dear to you. People deal with Grief and loss in many ways. One way to take emotion away is to seek legal representation or some kind of third party. Maybe talking to your brother about what is happening for him prior to the day may help. Not knowing your relationship makes that hard. Maybe some research on grief and loss.

I hope it works out for you.
Reply:Some people think that money and material possessions are the important things in life, only to find out that things only last for so long and money can only buy happiness for a short time. The important things can not be bought or stored on a shelf. You will only be cheated if possessions mean more than the relationship you had with your mother. I am sorry that you lost your mother, but honor her by not being like your brother.
Reply:Please accept my condolences, unfortunately a death

in the family can really bring out the ugly in people.

A lot of families hurt each other over possessions

that belonged to the deceased. They forget about the

need to be there to support each other. You have a

legal right to your inheritance how ever large or small

it is. You are your mother%26#039;s child and as such you should

Reply:The use of %26quot;Frogs%26quot; can help you achieve a nice, uniform arrangement. They vary in size and height. The %26#039;Frog%26#039; is a round disc that has holes which are layered in height. The holes are short from outside and get higher to the inside. these are usually used in clear vases.

Floral foam can be inserted into a non clear vase and will soak up water to help keep the flowers drinking. Just cut with knife to fit the vase. This is a better versatility, as the shorter flowers can also be used. Hope this helps.
Reply:Take a nice vase, cut the ends of your flowers and plonk them in. Simple as that - the more contrived your arrangement, the less natural it is.affiliate

Funeral donations?

My boss who I have worked for just passed away. Im not sure how much to donate to the charities that they have selected. And I would also like to send a flower arrangement. Is it not appropriate to send a flower arangement when they have charities listed in the obit. It is a boss but we are like family and he was the second generation of the founder and we will be continueing to work for the son who took over. They are the best bosses in the world and have done a lot for us, we are family. Any advice.

FlowersBirthday FlowersSympathy FlowersIf you really want to do something, I would donate to the charities. Figure out how much you would spend on the flower arrangement and spend that amount on your donation.

I would also suggest getting a collection together for a company-wide donation for flowers so that everyone can feel involved. It sounds like the owners are very appreciated there.
Reply:Don%26#039;t send flowers if it says %26quot;donations to XYZ charities in lieu of flowers%26quot;. Find out how much a funeral wreath or other type of floral arrangement would cost and send that amount to the charity.
Reply:best bet would be a staff collection for the funeral arrangement which judging by what you said would be no problem along with IF the members of staff wished to also add a few dollars to one of the charities that they pick from the list as a separate donation.

Who ever does the collection tin, make sure that they account for everything, flowers, a card from all staff that donated to be sent to the family...............if anything left over ask if they could pick TWO out of the list for the remainder to be sent to.
