Guys! Are these razor saws a good gift for a guy I've dated 3 times???

For our second date he gave me a flower arrangement. Our third date is tomorrow. We%26#039;re going to a Christmas party, and I%26#039;d like to give him something appropriate and something he would like.

What do you think of these saws as a gift? http://www.leevalley.com/wood/page.aspx?...

Unfortunately, I didn%26#039;t ask him if he%26#039;s into woodwork, but these saws will cut through other materials, such as plastic and brass.
Guys! Are these razor saws a good gift for a guy I%26#039;ve dated 3 times???
Say
FlowersBirthday FlowersSympathy Flowersabsolutley not. first of all you do not need to be getting a gift at all for someone youve only dated three times. especially if you dont really know that he would like it. something simple like a bottle of wine that you can enjoy together would be more appropriate. save real gifts for special occasions after you are offically together.
Reply:why even get them if you don%26#039;t know if his in to wood working. get him something Else he would appreciate. something he would wear or something for his house or apartment.
Reply:if ya dont know if he%26#039;s into wood work then you should find out before getting/giving him that
Reply:you do know ur back round is for gay people rite?
Reply:no. honestly i wouldnt really want those kinfe things

get him a superchip for his truck if he is a real man, but if that were the case then hed already have one , and intake and an exhaust along with some sort of lift kit and big ol tires. so get him something neat for his truck. we men as a gender are a very intrigued by simple things and also by very complex things

so some good food would work, but if he diesnt like food then cant really call himself a man and needs to openly admit his sexuality and get the hell out of man city and onto rainbow island.

seriously though dont get him those knife doohickeys theyre a waste of your hard earned money.acting resources

Do most relatives fight all the time over funeral arrangements and splitting of their parent's assets.?

How can we minimize hate, bitterness, hurt feelings, and anger this weekend when we meet to split up some of the stuff. It is only a month since mom died and I cannot understand the big rush to do it all now and in one day..they are all stressing me out. Is this normal..the family is real dysfunctional and my brother nearly attacked me twice..once from stress of the day and saying the flower spray was too much (at the most $50 over the cheapest one)..he screamed, said I weas lying to hiom and truying to chat him, vowed revenge and broke glass in the house and overturned books...another time went craxy because I wanted to ask the lawyer what a legal paper was before signing it..he screamed, im,plied he would cheat my on the will which he can do as to how it was written and demanded my mom%26#039;s house key back..we did make up but this is crazy..I am dreading Sunday and feel I will get cheated, hurt feelings, and not the things I would like...I feel like not gouing but he said I need to go
Do most relatives fight all the time over funeral arrangements and splitting of their parent%26#039;s assets.?
Say
FlowersBirthday FlowersSympathy FlowersI don%26#039;t know why but it seems like that%26#039;s the way MANY families get when one passes away. From what I have seen in my own family and in families of others close to me it seems like you are definitely NOT alone. I don%26#039;t know why it gets so ugly with everyone arguing over who gets what, who deserves what and so on. It all seems so petty and it brings out the ugliness you never knew existed in people. Maybe it%26#039;s because of the hurt losing someone close brings and that many just don%26#039;t know how to deal with it any other way. Maybe it%26#039;s because everyone starts to scramble for material things that will remind them of that person, somehow feeling like you have something to remember them by. Or, maybe it%26#039;s just greed...claiming what they feel they%26#039;ve earned.

Regardless of why, you aren%26#039;t alone. You should go. It may be that the other members just want to get that settled so you can all start to move on. Try to stay above the pettiness. Don%26#039;t let the others drag you into that. It sounds like your brother is not taking this well and he%26#039;ll have to get past it on his own. You obviously are very different and that%26#039;s probably why his behavior is so surprising to you. Go and meet with them and if things get out of hand, make sure your voice is heard. If you can, let them know how you feel and how much it hurts you to see everyone fighting. If that%26#039;s out of the question, I would walk away. You don%26#039;t need material things to remember her by and nothing material is worth getting vicious with family, no matter how dysfunctional they may be. If there are things you want, let them know right away and leave them to fight eachother for the rest. The last thing you need is this negativity when you are grieving from the loss of your mother. It will only bring more pain. Continue to be strong and protect yourself from any more. I hope it all works out. My condolences.

Reply:Unfortunately, alot of families fight over meaningless material possessions. Whenever something like this occurs in my family, I volunteer that they can have anything they want except one thing and they can%26#039;t have that. That is the quality of time I spent with my loved one before they passed. That is something nobody can take from me. And that is more precious than anything on earth.

Reply:I%26#039;m sorry for your loss. Yes it is normal for conflict and confusion. It sounds like your brother isn%26#039;t coping too well. From my personal experience thereis usually at least one family member who for whatever reason and that is individual as we are. They can feel like they had a closer relationship with the person who%26#039;s passed on and deserve more posessions than the others. A time that is hard for all made harder by unrealistic expectations. If he is the only male he may feel it is all his task. It wont make sense from others perspective. For whatever reson it is happening. You have as much right as any in the family and will be angry at yourself if you dont get that which is most dear to you. People deal with Grief and loss in many ways. One way to take emotion away is to seek legal representation or some kind of third party. Maybe talking to your brother about what is happening for him prior to the day may help. Not knowing your relationship makes that hard. Maybe some research on grief and loss.

I hope it works out for you.
Reply:Some people think that money and material possessions are the important things in life, only to find out that things only last for so long and money can only buy happiness for a short time. The important things can not be bought or stored on a shelf. You will only be cheated if possessions mean more than the relationship you had with your mother. I am sorry that you lost your mother, but honor her by not being like your brother.
Reply:Please accept my condolences, unfortunately a death

in the family can really bring out the ugly in people.

Reply:The use of %26quot;Frogs%26quot; can help you achieve a nice, uniform arrangement. They vary in size and height. The %26#039;Frog%26#039; is a round disc that has holes which are layered in height. The holes are short from outside and get higher to the inside. these are usually used in clear vases.

Floral foam can be inserted into a non clear vase and will soak up water to help keep the flowers drinking. Just cut with knife to fit the vase. This is a better versatility, as the shorter flowers can also be used. Hope this helps.
Reply:Take a nice vase, cut the ends of your flowers and plonk them in. Simple as that - the more contrived your arrangement, the less natural it is.affiliate

Funeral donations?

My boss who I have worked for just passed away. Im not sure how much to donate to the charities that they have selected. And I would also like to send a flower arrangement. Is it not appropriate to send a flower arangement when they have charities listed in the obit. It is a boss but we are like family and he was the second generation of the founder and we will be continueing to work for the son who took over. They are the best bosses in the world and have done a lot for us, we are family. Any advice.

FlowersBirthday FlowersSympathy FlowersIf you really want to do something, I would donate to the charities. Figure out how much you would spend on the flower arrangement and spend that amount on your donation.

I would also suggest getting a collection together for a company-wide donation for flowers so that everyone can feel involved. It sounds like the owners are very appreciated there.
Reply:Don%26#039;t send flowers if it says %26quot;donations to XYZ charities in lieu of flowers%26quot;. Find out how much a funeral wreath or other type of floral arrangement would cost and send that amount to the charity.
Reply:best bet would be a staff collection for the funeral arrangement which judging by what you said would be no problem along with IF the members of staff wished to also add a few dollars to one of the charities that they pick from the list as a separate donation.

Who ever does the collection tin, make sure that they account for everything, flowers, a card from all staff that donated to be sent to the family...............if anything left over ask if they could pick TWO out of the list for the remainder to be sent to.

What kind of lei is appropriate for a funeral?

My family is originally from Hawaii, but is now settled on the mainland. My aunt just passed away and I wanted to create a lei instead of a regular flower arrangement. I%26#039;ve seen leis at other funerals, but I don%26#039;t know which flowers/types are appropriate. I%26#039;d hate to give something that represents %26#039;long life and happiness%26#039; to someone who is now deceased. Anyone know what would work and what wouldn%26#039;t? Thanks!
What kind of lei is appropriate for a funeral?
Say
FlowersBirthday FlowersSympathy FlowersWhat a beutiiful gesture on your part. Sorry about your Aunt and the length of this but it was excelllent reading.

Hala is appreciated at a funeral, or as a gift to someone from Puna. La`i, ti leaf, is always appropriate, as is maile.

Temporary traditional leis were fashioned of natural material

Leis were sewn or weaved with coconut husk, olona, banana or hau fibers.

Temporary leis now commonly called fresh leis, are a mixture of endemic as well as introduced combinations of flowers, leaves, mosses, blossoming grasses, and vines. Materials common for stringing include: suji, ribbon, lei thread even carpet thread.

kipu`u - knotting.Short vine lengths or leaves with a long stem were knotted together, as seen with the maile lei or kukui leaf

hili - plaiting or braiding. Used only when braiding one material, seen in the modern ti leaf leis and maile lei

haku - braiding %26quot;somewhat%26quot;, with a central binding cord and mixture of flower, leaf and/or fern. The term haku is loosely used for the head lei.

wili - winding similar to the haku with no knots till the very end.

humu papa - sewing to a foundation. The traditional head lei, or as in feather leis.

kui - stringing,

kui pololei - stringing through the center of the flower or shell. Remember puka shells?

kui poepoe - stringing through stem or ovary of flower, arranging as in spokes of a wheel. The beautifl double plumeria lei is often strung in this method.

kui lau - stringing flat through stem or ovary of flower, arranging alternating side to side. The intricate cigar flower lei is strung with this method.

The colors and designated emblem to each Island was adopted in 1923 by the Territorial Legislature of Hawai`i. Except for the lokelani rose representing Maui, all are native fauna that are naturally associated with that island. The pupu .

Kaho`olawe - silver gray - hinahina

Maui - pink - damask rose officially lokelani is listed

Moloka`i - silver green - the kukui

Kaua`i - violet - mokihana

Lana`i - orange - kaunoloa

Hawai`i - red - lehua

Ni`ihau - white - pupu shells

O`ahu - yelloe - ilima

Molokini - medium blue - limu kala

Open every pod and fruit to see the seed inside (watermelon is just one).

If it is not poisonous, it can be strung!

Make do with what you have. Standard needle and thread, hey even floss is great!

The old favorites of ,pasta%26#039;s and noodles; crepe paper and straws. Canna, a favorite for leis is called ali`i poe in Hawaii. A very rare lei, yet a very commonly found seed. The common manila palms; after the red %26quot;date%26quot; falls to the ground and dries, under a bit of husk is a beautifl nut. The colored nut. The common plant used for hedges, Tiare, makes a wonderful lei. Papaya flowers and pansies, baby%26#039;s breath and boston fern make an awesome head lei.

Take them as hostess gifts, and to give to the departed at funerals. .

My inlaws wont return my mothers vase...?

My parents let my inlaws take a flower arrangement from my husband and my wedding, with the agreement that the vase that the flowers were in would be returned to my mother.

She is a florist and needs it for her next wedding. Its been 3 months now, my husband and I asked them to bring it to a family birthday party, but they didn%26#039;t.

My mother has tried contacting them several times, however they don%26#039;t respond. My husband isn%26#039;t on good terms with his parents but at least they answer his phone calls. I think my husband should just give them a call, and let them know that its important that they let her get back the vase. My mother has offered to go get it, even if they want to leave it on the porch. What do you think we should do?

My husband thinks its awkward to ask them for it. I think that since they are ignoring everyone else, and he is the only one who they answer their phone to, its his responsibility.

Suggestions?
My inlaws wont return my mothers vase...?
Say
FlowersBirthday FlowersSympathy FlowersYour husband needs to be a man and take responsibility. They are his parents and they have your mothers vase, if his call is the only call they pick up, then he needs to call and get the vase back regardless of what terms they%26#039;re on.

It%26#039;s not fair that your parents have to suffer because his parents are rude and he%26#039;s too stingy to call. Make him call and tell him to man up!
Reply:No matter what term your husband is with his family he should be the oen that gone to pick the vase

I have a feeling that soemthing happen to the vase
Reply:your husband should help you. it%26#039;s probably broken....
Reply:No, it%26#039;s not his responsibility. It%26#039;s your mothers, because she let them take it in the first place. Now don%26#039;t get mad, because there is plenty of blame to go around. It%26#039;s also both of your fault, for letting so much time pass. If it was so important to get the vase back. Then you should have grabbed your husband, got in the car and gone to get it. Or simply replaced the thing, with a new one. That is if it is not a family heirloom. In which case, go, do not call your in laws, and get the thing and have it over with.
Reply:The agreement was made between your parents and the inlaws. Your parents need to show up at the inlaws house and tell them to hand over the vase or pay for the cost of it. And if they refuse to do so, then take it up in court.
Reply:I think it%26#039;s kind of sad that you haven%26#039;t been to his parents in the 3 months that you%26#039;ve been married. It%26#039;s probably being held hostage.

Stop over with a gift of coffee or a cake, stay for a while to talk, then when it%26#039;s time to leave say %26quot;Oh, by the way I%26#039;ll save you the trip and take the vase now%26quot;.
Reply:Send the man. If it%26#039;s desperate, actually wait on their porch. They%26#039;ll hafta come out or go in sometime.
Reply:Have you, your mom or your husband drive over and just get the vase. If that doesn%26#039;t work, call the police and they can escort you over to get the darned thing. And then never, never give them anything you expect returned again because man, this is a sad, sad situation. Who cares if there%26#039;s trauma drama, just go get it.
Reply:You in-laws obviously KNOW your mother wants it back. They simply have no intention of returning it. You husband should call them and plan to go over. He shouldn%26#039;t mention the vase because that will only make them hide it. When he goes over, right before he leaves, he should just say something like, %26quot;Oh! That%26#039;s so and so%26#039;s. She says she%26#039;s doing a wedding next week, so she%26#039;ll probably need it. I%26#039;ll return it for you.%26quot; Then he should pick it up, and walk out. When they make an excuse he can tell them he%26#039;s going to see your parents the next day and is saving his parents the trouble and your mother the delay. They may be pissed, but since he already isn%26#039;t on good terms with them, he doesn%26#039;t have much to lose.
